Biography
Mandakolathor Subrahmanya Srinivasan earned his BSc and MSc degrees from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) with highest honours. Thereafter, he joined as Lecturer in the Department of Geology at BHU (1960); proceeded to New Zealand (1963) as a British Commonwealth Scholar and received PhD (1965) from the Victoria University, Wellington. He visited the British Museum (Natural History), London (1968-69) and examined its foraminiferal type collections from different expeditions. He was Visiting Scientist at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island, USA (1972-74, 1979-81), where he taught and carried out researches on various aspects of oceanic biostratigraphy and paleoceanography.
