Biography
Hagenmuller is one of the founders of solid state chemistry in connection with many different chemical elaboration methods, structural characterization techniques and determination of the specific physical properties. The aim of his research is to correlate composition, structure and physical behaviour of the materials in order, for instance, to utilize them for industrial applications with the best possible performance. He is a well-known expert in non-stoichiometry, electronic localization-delocalization problems, fluoride compounds, intercalation chemistry, high pressure research, nonlinear materials and mechanical behaviour of the ceramics.
