Biography
PW Anderson is perhaps the leading condensed matter physicist of the second half of the tewentieth century. His work has started a number of areas in this part of physics, e.g. localization of electronic states in disordered systems (Anderson localization); magnetism in insulators (Kramens-Anderson superexchange) and metals (Anderson impurity and lattice); spin glasses (Edwards Anderson mode); superflindity in HE³; broken symmetry and its quantum implications; weak localizations prebiotic evolution; quantum magnetism, resonating valence bond and high temperature superconductivity.
