Biography
Santosh Kumar Mishra obtained his PhD degree (1983) from the University of Poona. His areas of specialization are dynamic meteorology, numerical modeling and energetics of the atmosphere. During 1976-93 he was Head, Theoretical Studies Division, Head, Computer Division and Deputy Director, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune; Visiting Scientist, Department of Meteorology, Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam (1989, 1992); Director General, National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting, New Delhi (1993-97) and Visiting Scientist, Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (1997-2000, 2004-05)
