Biography

Research in the area of synthetic Inorganic Chemistry with emphasis on framework structures, Li-Ion conduction, Inorganic Pigments. Our studies have identied new compounds with interesting framework structures exhibiting selective sorption, ferro/ferrimagnetic behavior and heterogeneous catalysis. We have been successful in preparing many analogues of classicial inorganic structures in inorganic-organic hybird framework compounds. In the area of Li-ion conduction materials, we have been successful in preparing new battery materials that exhibit good capacity as cathodes. In inorganic pigments, we have been able to identify new chromophores that are cheap and can be reliably used as pigments. We have so far isolated compounds that have excellent Blue, Red, and Turquoise color pigments.
