Biography
Sashi Bhushan Bhatia earned his BSc and MSc degrees from Lucknow University. In 1950 he joined the Imperial College of Science and Technology as a research scholar in Micropaleontology. He was awarded the Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) in 1953 and the PhD in Micropaleontology by the University of London. He joined Lucknow University as Lecturer in 1953, and in 1958, he joined the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Calcutta as the Publication Officer. In 1959, he resigned from GSI to join the Faculty of Panjab University. He retired as Professor in 1990, and continued for a period of five years as an Emeritus Scientist of the CSIR.
