Biography

Professor Kailath is well recognized globally as one of the foremost researchers in electrical engineering whose career has spanned systems, computing, communications, control, and semiconductor lithography. He also made well-recognized contributions to stochastic processes, operator theory, and linear algebra. He has been an outstanding academic and effective translator of university research to industry through several start up companies. Professor Kailath is unique in that he has excelled in multiple areas - made deep theoretical contributions in several fields, his work has had a major impact on industry, and he has mentored students who have risen to global leadership in academia and industry.
