Biography
Anindya Ghosh is Assistant Professor of Strategy at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Previously he held a position in the entrepreneurship department at IESE Business School, Barcelona. Anindya is interested in how technological innovations are transformed into value creating commercial outputs via entrepreneurial actions. Broadly, his research interests lie at the intersection of technology innovation, entrepreneurship & strategy and span three broad streams within the knowledge-based view of the firm paradigm. The first stream, arising out of his dissertation (2nd prize at the 2011 Industry Studies dissertation award), tries to unpack the antecedents of entrepreneurial firm performance by making the novel and important distinction that many firms neither achieve successful outcomes for investors nor fail. The second stream investigates organizational learning processes beyond the learning curve with the aim to shed light on the locus of learning within firms as well as to improve the understanding of the micro-foundations of these learning processes. The third stream pertains to knowledge flows within networks, focusing on methodological issues as well as performance consequences. Prior to pursuing an academic career, he worked in the wireless telecommunications industry for over twelve years in Spain, Silicon Valley and India as an entrepreneur, manager and engineer. In 2001, he founded Kubi Wireless, the premier Wireless Internet Service provider in Spain. This initiative was 1st Runner Up in the European Business Plan of the Year and was recognized by Actualidad Economica one of the "100 Best Ideas of the Year". Anindya completed his doctoral studies at the Wharton School. He also holds an M.B.A from IESE Business School, and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
