Paramita Suklabaidya

Biography

Dr. Paramita Suklabaidya is an alumnus of Delhi University and Lucknow University. She is NET-JRF qualified (2000) and has her PhD from Lucknow University (2008). She was associated with IGNOU from 1999 to 2001 as an Academic Consultant involved with the development of the study material for the MTM programme. She has since then worked as a lecturer in Puducherry (selected through UPSC), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and IITTM, Gwalior (under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India); prior to rejoining IGNOU, SOTHSM in December 2008. Her research papers have been accepted and presented in National and International Seminars and Conferences. She has published few research papers in National Tourism Journals and co – authored chapters in three edited books. She has also reviewed research papers for Journals like - Tourism Recreation Research and Atna – The Tourism Journal. She is a Member of the committee constituted by CBSE for revising the existing course curriculum on Travel and Tourism as well as a Member of the committee constituted by AICTE on National Vocational Education Qualification Framework (NVEQF) for various levels in the field of Tourism Sector.

Research Interest

Her area of interest includes Crisis Management in Tourism, Tourism Marketing and SIT including Cruises and MICE – Event Management. Currently, she is Coordinating the PhD Programme.
