Biography

Contribution (including publications): • Conceptualized and initiated development of Masters in Agribusiness Management (MABM) programme. The programme consists of 12 Core, 8 elective, 9 specialized courses, 2 bridge courses and a project work. • Involved in writing of 9 units of various courses and editing of 18 courses. • Facilitated development of 4 video programmes, 2 audio programmes and 7 teleconferencing based video programmes as the Content Coordinator, Interviewer and Discussant. • Published 16 research papers in refereed journals, 3 edited books, 4 chapters in edited books, 8 full papers and 3 abstracts in seminars/conferences, two blogs, two souvenirs of conferences and one project report. Projects handled, if any: • Implemented the ICAR-NAIP sponsored research project entitled “Innovations in Technology Mediated Learning: An Institutional Capacity Building in Re-Usable Learning Object Technology in Agro-Horticulture” as Principal Investigator. IGNOU was the lead center. YCMOU, Nasik, TNAU, Coimbatore and ICRISAT, Hyderabad were the consortium partners. Developed 500 Reusable Learning Objects and an Open Access Platform “AgriLORE”. Members of Committees: • Member, School Board, School of Agriculture, IGNOU. • External Member, Board of Studies, Institute of Agri Business Management, SK Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. Achievements: • Coordinating and monitoring of offering of PG Certificate in Agriculture Policy (PGCAP), PG Diploma in Plantation Management (PGDPM) and Ph.D. in Agriculture Extension (PGDAGE). • Conducted two need assessment studies on open and distance learning programmes in agriculture. • Organised 10 workshops on the aspects such as curriculum designs and development, need assessment workshop, course writers’ workshops, AgriLORE platform, etc. • Conducted three training programmes for farmers, rural youth, and extension functionaries in the areas of agricultural marketing, finance and risk management in North-East region.
