Biography
Dr. Sonia Sharma is an alumnus of University of Jammu. She has done Masters in Tourism Management (MTM) from IGNOU & Ph.D in Tourism from University of Jammu. She has also qualified UGC-NET in Tourism. She has worked as Academic Consultant of Tourism & Hospitality Studies in Uttrakhand Open University, Haldwani from 2006 to 2008. She has been associated in designing the curriculum and development of study material for Bachelor in Tourism Studies & Hotel Management Programmes of Uttrakhand Open University. She has also worked as Academic Consultant at IGNOU’s Regional Centre, Jammu. She was Director I/c of School of Tourism & Hospitality Services Sectoral Management (SOTHSSM), IGNOU from December 2008 to July 2012. She has to her credit several Research Papers & her research papers have been published in reputed national & International Tourism & Hospitality Journals. She has specialized in the field of Ecotourism, Sustainable tourism and destination planning.
