Biography
Vibhor Kumar was working as Research scientist at Genome Institute of Singapore. After completing his M. tech from IIT Delhi in 2001, he started his career in biological sciences, mainly working on bioinformatic problems related to structural biology and statistical analysis of biological data. He finished his PhD in 2007 from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto), Finland. During his PhD, he solved the first structure of LDL(bad cholesterol) in native state at human body temperature. After completing PhD, Dr Vibhor started applying computational approach to genomic data and worked for 1 year at a personal-genomics company in Malaysia. Since 2009 he is working with Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) and has published some fundamental research findings. At GIS he is primarily working on chromatin states and gene regulation and applying his findings to other branches such as clinical sciences and stem cell study.
Research Interest
Genomics, Computational Biology and Statistical Signal processing.
