His education includes: M.Sc., Ph.D (Forestry). His research interest is in Tree improvement and Agroforestry His ongoing projects are:Studies on suitability of Eucalyptus camaldulensis and E. tereticornis clones for various agroclimatic zones of Southern India, Selection and Vegetative Propagation of Neolamarckia cadamba (Roxb.)Miq – An alternative species for Pencil , Match Wood and Ply Wood Industries, Development of models for conversion of plantations into secondary forests in Andaman islands, Identification of extent of forest lands in forest fringe villages.
