Research Interest
The increasing evidences suggest that gut microbiota is going to influence the existing realms of healthcare and seems ready to offer promising approaches to improve human health and cure diseases in an effective way. The rapid developments in the study of gut microbiology are revealing the role of gut microbiota in digestion, the gut-brain axis, developing immune system and defending against pathogens. The perturbation in gut biodiversity has far reaching implications on human health and development. The research activitiesin my laboratory aim further investigation on the study of gut microbiome and how the result of the investigation may be helpful to devise strategies to promote human health and prevent diseases. We intend to identify more gut flora and their metabolites and understand the interactions of these metabolites within gut bacteria and with the host.
