Biography
Dr. Rajendra Prasad Gajula obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the National Centre for Cell Science, a premier national institute in Pune, India. Subsequently, he joined the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, USA as a postdoctoral fellow where he investigated the role of PAK1 kinase in DNA damage repair. He then moved to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA where he studied mechanisms of metastasis in prostate cancer. He was a junior faculty member at Washington State University in Spokane, USA before moving to the Institute of Bioinformatics. He is currently using CRISPR/Cas9 system to study mechanisms of oncogenesis by cancer driver genes.
