Biography

Dr.Nilani, professionally an academician, researcher and an administrator. Graduated from JSS College of Pharmacy and obtained Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology. Having 20 years of Teaching experience and 3 years of Administrative experience as Deputy Controller of Examinations and Nodal Officer of Quality Division, JSS University, Mysuru on deputation and Professor in JSS College of Pharmacy. Serves as a “Scientific advisor” for Indian Patent office since 2009. Published more than 20 research papers in national and international scientific journal with an average impact factor of 3.2 and presented more than 10 research papers as a delegate and as invited speaker in various national and international conference and symposium in India and abroad. Chaired scientific session at national and international level. Compiled 3 volumes of “Medicinal plant research compendium” of JSS University and a hand book of medicinal plants for Medicinal plants promoters society, Nilgiris. In addition, holds the position as editorial committee member of International Journal of Health & Allied Sciences” (IJHAS) and reviewer for 6 international journals. Recipient of prestigious Indian Association of biomedical sciences-IABMS best patent award for the year 2010. Conducted workshops related to “Tribal Women Empowerment” for tribal and ethnic women of Nilgiris District by obtaining grants CSIR , National Human Rights Commission and Tribal Research Center , Govt of Tamilnadu. As a qualified , trained “Value Educationist” conducts value education program for school and college students in various states in India and a Coordinator for Value Education Program in JSS College of Pharmacy, Ootacamund. Continue to empower women and motivate women trough various training programs. Formulated six policies and guidelines to maintain academic integrity of the University and created a patent cell with patent review committee to improve the IPR activities of the University. Through data compilation and validation played a lead role in University accreditation, affiliation and ranking ( regional, national and international).
