Dr. Debkumar Chakraborty

Biography

He has worked as an Assistant Professor for Chandigarh University in the year 2014. While working in Chandigarh University he went on to pursue his Post-doctoral Research at the Hong Kong Baptist University of Hong Kong on solid waste management as a senior research assistant (2015-2016). After coming back from Hong Kong he joined BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus as a research assistant to work on a project related to solid waste management.Dr. Debkumar Chakraborty has completed B.Sc. (Hons) in Microbiology from the University of Calcutta, M.Sc. in Microbial and Food Technology and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Punjabi University. He has more than four years of teaching and research experience.His main research domain includes Applied Microbiology and Solid Waste management specifically focusing on the production of Bio-based products in the framework of an integrated food waste and other solid waste (eg. Rice bran) through anaerobic digestion, applied microbiology, and metabolic engineering. Dr. Debkumar has authored about sixteen research articles (total impact 22.05), one chapter for books and one submitted proposal (DST). Dr. Debkumar is the recipient of SERB-(N-PDF) 2017, best poster award (International Conference, Hong Kong), GATE-2012 (Life Science), and UGC-BSR (JRF /SRF 2010-2014) in his credit. Dr. Debkumar is a regular reviewer for the International Journals - Environmental Technology, Taylor, and Francis.
