Biography
(a) Experimental surface studies employing X-ray and UV photoelectron spectroscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy and low energy electron diffraction, valence band photoemission as well as near edge x-ray absorption spectroscopy using tunable synchrotron radiation sources (employing SX-700 and TGM beamlines at BESSY, Berlin). (b) Employed Pelletron accelerator ion beams for modification of solids, large electronic excitation effects and atomic displacements, defects, defect structure and phase transitions, identification of these through techniques such as x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray topography (XRT) and scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM). (c) Ultra high vacuum systems, Film growth, Development of layered structures, heterostructures, quantum dots. (d) Basic research and technology development for production of metal nanoparticles through electro-explosion of wires
