Biography

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Professor, joined JIIT in 2006. His research areas focus on infectious diseases, microbial diversity and functional genomics. He has several International publications in high impact journals, 4 Indian patents and 2 technology design projects that were transferred to the industries. Dr. Gupta has more than six years experience of post doctoral research in Singapore. Before joining JIIT, he was working in Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) as Research Scientist for three years on transcriptomics and proteomics methods in addition to cloning of SARS and bird flu genes. For his post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Gupta joined Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), Singapore in 1999 and worked for three years on proteomics related aspects in human papilloma virus mediated cervical cancer. Sanjay did his graduation in Microbiology (Honours) from Delhi University and Masters in Biotechnology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He joined Delhi University, Biochemistry department to do his Ph. D in HIV related aspects and was awarded Ph. D in 2000. He was awarded Gold Medal for securing first position in Delhi University at graduation level. He has also secured DBT fellowship at Masters Level and Qualified National Eligibility (NET) test conducted by CSIR.
