Biography
Reema Gabrani, Associate Professor, joined the institute in July 2004. She did her graduation in Human Biology and Masters in Biotechnology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She obtained her doctorate from National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi. She received DBT fellowship at Masters level and Qualified National Eligibility (NET) test conducted by CSIR-UGC and has been the recipient of CSIR junior and senior research fellowships for doctoral studies. She has done her post-doctoral research work in the area of Molecular Virology from University of Minnesota, USA. Her major research areas are Molecular Virology and Therapeutic aspects of phytochemicals and peptides. Study of anti-microbial potential of phytochemicals and their nanoencapsulation will help in understanding the scientific basis of their activity and could lead to the development of drug molecule to combat the bacterial infection. She has several publications in high impact international journals and one Technology transfer to the industry. She was the convener for Faculty Development program on “Recent Advances in Diagnostics and therapeutics” from July 18-23, 2016. She co- organized DBT-sponsored one-day National conference on “Biodiversity and Agribiotechnology’ on April 25, 2009 and five days Workshop on ‘Plant Bio-products And Industrial Scale-Up’ n collaboration with Sanat Products Ltd. from July 5-9, 2010 at JIIT, Noida.
