Chemical Engineering
Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology
India
Biography
Dr. G. K. Agarwal obtained his B.E. and M.E. degrees in the field of chemical engineering from University of Roorkee, Roorkee in 1983 & 1985, respectively. He has served Vam Organics Limited for nearly two years in between 1986 to 1988. Then he completed his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 1997 on the topic “Studies on low temperature oxidation of carbon monoxide over copper-chromite catalysts”. Prior to joining JUET Guna in January 2006 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, he has worked as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor and HOD in the Department of Chemical Engineering at various places such as Institute of Engineering Technology, Lucknow, IITT College of Engineering & Technology, Pojewal (Punjab) & Dr. K. N. Modi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Modinagar from December 1997 to January 2006. He has about 25 years of teaching, research & industrial experience to his credit. He has taught a wide range of subjects both at undergraduate & post-graduate level and contributed in the development of laboratories and preparation of lab manuals at various institutes. His current research interests include heterogeneous catalysis, development of non-noble metal catalysts for control of automotive exhaust pollution, destruction of Volatile Organic Compounds and waste water treatment using low cost adsorbents. He has published research papers in national and international journals of repute. He has also participated and presented research papers in national conferences/workshops. He is member of Indian institute of Chemical Engineers, Calcutta & Indian Society of Technical Education, New Delhi. He is presently working here as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
