Biography
Mr. Salil Modak obtained M. Sc. (1997-1999) from School of Physics, Devi Ahilya University Indore. He worked (2001-2003) as junior research fellow in the department of physics, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee where he was involved with the theoretical investigation of Transport and Thermodynamic Properties of Ellipsoidal Fluids and Nematic Liquid Crystals. He received Ph. D. with distinction from École Normale Superieure de Cachan, Paris, France in the year 2008. His doctoral studies included investigation of structural and soft magnetic properties of Fe-Zr-Nb-B based nanocrystalline ribbons and thin films. He has been a visiting research scholar at Electrotecnico division at Istituto Nazionale Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM), Torino, Italy (June 2008). He also served Centre National Rechereche Scientifique (CNRS) France (2008-2009) as an engineer for research studies at SATIE laboratory, École Normale Superieure de Cachan. He has 07 research articles published in international journals (SCI) of repute and 10 contributions to international and national level conferences. He has over 14 years of teaching experience at under-garduate and post-graduate level.
Research Interest
Theoretical and experimental investigations of structural, soft magnetic and magneto-transport properties of amorphous, nanocrystalline alloys in the form of bulk, thin film, nanowires, nanoparticles and their applications.
