Biography

Dr. Gopal Singh Bisht has joined Jaypee University of Information Technology as Assistant Professor (Grade-II) in Feb 2010. He is trained and experienced organic chemist with 6 years of post Ph.D. experience in research. Before joining JUIT, he worked as a Research Scientist at Ranbaxy research Laboratory, where he was responsible for design and synthesis of generic or new drug and their process optimization for scale up from the R and D Laboratory scale to the Manufacturing Plant scale. Dr. Bisht has carried out his Ph.D. work at Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR), where he worked on synthesis and biological evaluation of antimicrobial peptides and got his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Delhi, New Delhi, India, He has published his research work in peer reviewed journals such as BBA Biomembrane, Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters, Chemical Biology and Drug Design, the FEBS Journal, Current Pharmaceutical Design. His current research focuses on design and synthesis of Peptides, Peptidomimetics and Heterocyclic compounds as antimicrobial and anticancer agents. He is also interested in natural product chemistry.
