Biography

Bioinformatics fascinated me since beginning. Having background in Biology and Computer Science, I selected it as my research career. I did PhD in Bioinformatics from MANIT, Bhopal and joint research work for PhD was also done from Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel. I worked with Dr. KR Pardasani and Dr. Tal Pupko; their role as supervisor and co-supervisor for my PhD. After completing my PhD in 2008, I won post doctoral fellowship from planning and budgeting committee (VATAT), TAU, Israel. I did my post doctoral studies in Molecular Evolution and Functional Genomics in Dr. Dorothee Huchon's lab. Returning from Israel, I joined DAVV, Indore, India for a year during 2009-10. I joined JUIT in July 2010 and since then I am working on various aspects of genomics, Proteomics towards their involvement in various human disease. I am also interested and working on the annotation of complex Biological Networks through Computational Systems Biology approach. I am specifically working on DNA repair system and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) through myriad of computational approaches. I recently completed DST FASTRACK project and other project from ICMR has just been started.
