Biography
Poonam is B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra and secured 5th position in her batch. She completed M.Tech. in Structural Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra (2nd topper), with distinction in thesis. She was awarded with ISTE Best-M.Tech. thesis National Award (2005). After working in TCE for a stint, she joined teaching profession. Her research interests are Base-isolation, Seismic-Resistant Design and Repair Retrofitting of Structures. She has published more than 22 research papers, and has two books to her credit: (1) Effect of Damping in Bearings for Base Isolated Buildings (LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany), ISBN: 978-36-590-0240-3, and (2) Engineering Mechanics (McGraw Hill) ISBN: 978-93-392-1917-8.
