Biography

Dr. Ram Gopal Garg (Born Jan1970) Associate Professor,    School of Studies in Library and Information Science, Jiwaji University, Gwalior (M.P.). He completed his B.Sc. (Maths), M.A.(AIH)and M.Lib.I.Sc.(First class First in Merit of the University) from Dr. Hari Singh Gaur University, Sagar (M.P.) He has also qualified UGC‐NET.  He obtained doctorate in LIS from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He has been awarded “ILA Dr. C.D. Sharma award” for best research paper in 2003; Best Library Science Teacher award in 2007 by the M.P. Young Librarian Association, Bhopal (M.P.); Arhat Bachan Award for best research paper in 2006; Gaur Gaurav award by Gaur Chetan Samiti in Dr. H.S. Gaur University, Sagar (M.P.) in 1991.   He is also working as Dy. Coordinator, NET preparation cell for SC/ST & Minority students of the university, member SHAW (Sexual Harassment against Women) cell of the University, member of Academic Council of the University, member of Board of Studies of Library and Information Science.    So many times he has worked as resource person for refresher courses, training programme and LIS workshops. He has published 46 research papers in National, International journals, seminars, conferences, 06 Newspapers articles and 05 Radio talks. He has also published 03 books. He is a life member of many professional associations in India like ILA, IATLIS, IAAE , IASLIC etc. He has worked as elected Council Member (2007‐2010) of Indian Library Association and Joint Secretary of Jiwaji University Teacher’s Association. He has also delivered guest lecturers in a number of universities and colleges. He is working as Chief‐  editor Journal of Young Librarian Association. At present 06 Ph.D. students are working under his supervision.

Research Interest

. His research interests lie broadly in the area of Bibliographical control, Vocabulary control & Digital Information Storage and Retrieval in Hindi.
