Biography
Prof. R.P. Pandey (barn on July lst, 1955 at Hathigawan, Pratapgarh (U.P.) did B.A. (1974), M.A. (1976) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and Ph.D. from Deccan Collage Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra. In 1977 Deccan Collage Research Institute, fellowship was awarded. In 1978 Junior Research Fellowship, 1982 Senior Research Fellowship of the UGC. 1983 Post-Doctoral fellowship of the Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi 1984 Research Associate (UGC) were awarded. He has participated in 65 National and 5 International seminars in India and aboard including seminars at Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.
Research Interest
His general research focused on Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology and has guided many students at M.Phil and Ph.D. level. Currently he has been working on the palaco-environment and Quaternary stratigraphy of the Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati Doab.
