Dr. Ramachandraiah Gosu

Biography

Dr. Ram has over 15 years of research experience and his expertise involves Gene to Structure Projects, Protein Engineering, Macromolecular Crystallography and contributes to Structure Based Drug Discovery (SBDD). He oversees all functional projects in the dept: Production of Enzymatically Active Recombinant Proteins, Protein-to-Structure, Gene-to-Structure; as well as supports integrated drug discovery programs: by providing corystal structures of catalytic domains/full-length enzymes with small-molecule compounds under SBDD portfolio, required reagents (proteins for primary assays, over expressing cell lines for secondary assays etc). Prior to joining Jubilant Biosys, he had been working as post-doctoral fellow at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA under the guidance of Prof. Douglas H. Ohlendorf in Structural Genomics Project- Pathogenic Island Proteins from Staphylococcus aureus. He has obtained his Ph.D in 2003 in Structural Biology under joint supervision of Dr. Nagasuma R. Chandra and Prof. M. Vijayan from Molecular Biophysics Unit at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, INDIA. To his credit he has co-authored 6 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
