Mr. Steven Hutchins

Biography

Mr. Steven Hutchins brings 26 years of pharmaceutical & healthcare experience and leadership to JDDS, including experience in Business Development and R&D as well as strategic partnerships. He has held senior management positions at Merck, Evotec, BioDuro and WuXi AppTec, where he was instrumental in leading the development of strategy, sales & marketing and commercialization of key strategic alliances. Steven started his career in 1990 at Merck Research Laboratories after completing his degree in Chemistry. In his 17 years at Merck, Steven transitioned from being a full time scientist into the business side of the pharmaceutical industry. In his role leading Merck’s Strategic Outsourcing efforts, he negotiated multi-year service agreements with CRO’s and had responsibility for managing all vendor evaluation and qualification in support of Merck’s Basic Research and Preclinical Development efforts. During these years, Steven was a prolific contributor, publishing scientific papers and making numerous presentations to the broad scientific and business communities. In 2007, Steven joined BioDuro as Vice President, Business Development & Collaboration Management, where he led all business development efforts for the company. He moved to WuXi Apptec in 2008 as Vice President, Corporate Development and built a number of partnerships during his tenure. Steven joins us from Evotec where for the past 6 years he served as Executive Vice President, Business Development, responsible for global sales and marketing. Back
