Biography

Dr M GOPICHAND received his undergraduate (MBBS) and then postgraduate (MS, General Surgery) degrees from BYL NAIR & Topiwala National Medical college MUMBAI University. After Residency in Urology (MCh, DNB Urology) at BOMBAY HOSPITAL INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES , Mumbai, he was assistant professor at prestigious NIMS hyderabad. Then he worked as Consultant Urologist at various centers in the state - He currently serves as Consultant, UROLOGIST AND UROLOGICAL CANCER SPECIALIST,KIMS HOSPITAL,SECUNDRABAD. He IS A RECOGNISED DNB TEACHER who has a superspecilaity dnb urology student under him .HE has visiting training Fellowship in Robotic Surgery offered at Georgia, north Atlanta. He presented lot of papers at national and international summits of urology .Dr gopichand has published over 6 articles in International and, 10 in National Journals and 2 Book Chapters. He has been invited over 10 times to give Lectures, be a Panelist in various scientific meetings and presented his work as papers and videos in International and National Meetings He has presented Scientific Papers and Posters in various International and National Conferences organized by the urology society. He is well versed with the latest in urology care and has a great safety track record. He is with Krishna institute of medical sciences and bollineni group of hospital for last 10 years. He has always being pro poor and has given back a lot to the society. He has done one of the highest number of arogya sri cases, especially renal transplantation. Dr M GOPICHAND has performed over 3000 Major and Supramajor Uro-Oncology Surgeries at KIMS Hospital including over 50 Robotic Surgeries with excellent outcomes. He was instrumental in setting up the Robotic Surgery Program at the Hospital. He has performed Robotic Radical Prostatectomies with an average blood loss of around 200 ml (international benchmark 100-200ml), The Urinary Incontinence rates are 12 % at 8 months (international benchmark 9-15%). He has performed over 200 Radical and Partial Nephrectomies by Open, Laparoscopic and Robotic methods with a perioperative mortality of less than 1 % ( international benchmark 0-1.2%) and morbidity of 3% ( international benchmark 2-5%). 20 patients have undergone Radical Cystectomy (Removal of Urinary Bladder for Cancer) with diversion done by Open and Robotic (6 cases) methods with mortality of 0% and morbidity of 10%.
