Biography
Apurv Dube did his engineering in Electronics and Communications from GGU Bilaspur, India and later moved on to do a Master’s in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He has been involved in teaching computer science courses in areas related to Algorithms, AI, Soft Computing, and Web technologies. In his free time, he enjoys writing code for his projects, some of which may be found at his website, codespill.com. His teaching experience comprises of undergraduate and graduate level courses at various institutions and guiding M.Tech. dissertation. Aside from the teaching responsibilities at K.R. Mangalam University, he has participated in course-structure and syllabus revision for B.Tech. Computer Science courses. He is a member of IEEE, and IEEE Computer Society. It has been his firm belief that, predominantly, the process of learning can be made interesting when both, the learner and the teacher, are able to truly appreciate the applications of the subject matter. We typically learn problem-solving in a counterintuitive manner, looking at small blocks which simply add up to solve bigger problems. Problem solving in the real-world involves breaking down unfamiliar tasks into manageable pieces which can be handled using existing techniques. The missing link between what we learn and why we need to learn it often precludes any possibility of sparking curiosity in the minds of people. It has been his endeavor to help students discover the connections from concepts to applications and, thereby, develop an appreciation for learning.
