Dr. Rattan Sagar Khanna

Biography

Dr. Rattan Sagar Khanna is a B.V.Sc & AH- Punjab Agri University, M.Sc (Hons) - Punjab Agri University, Diploma in Semen Freezing Gynecology & Andrology from Royal Veterinary and Agriculture University, Copenhagen, Diploma in Farm & Science Journalism, Course in Commercial Law & Corporate Planning. He has an experience of more than 40 years in the dairy sector. He was Director General, Ganesh Scientific Research Foundation, New Delhi, Managing Director of Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation, Jaipur, Regional Director, National Dairy Development Board, Consultant and General Manager, GCMMF, New Delhi, Council Member and Consultant, Gerson Lehrman Group, New York, USA, Honorary Vice Chairman and Consultant, Centre for Institute of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development (CIAHDD), Executive Member, World Buffalo Trust, Noida. Currently he is Life Member, and CEC member of Indian Dairy Association (IDA), and is also the Vice Chairman of NZEC. He is Head – Dairy Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi, Member – National Dairy Committee, CII, New Delhi. He has undertaken many domestic and international consultancy assignments with the World Bank, the USAID, the Asian Productivity Organisation, NDDB and in his individual capacity related to the dairy sector. He has contributed about 100 research, review, sectoral articles in reputed journals and newspapers and contributed column regularly in the “Business Bhaskar” and “Money Bhaskar”, New Delhi on Food and Dairy Sector. He was awarded “Best Paper Award” by the Indian Dairy Association. Asian Productivity Organisation Tokyo published an e-book “Sustainable Dairy Sector for Poverty Reduction” edited by him. Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi has published his book “Indian Dairy Cooperatives”.

Research Interest

He is on the Editorial board of Ayurvet that published a book “Management of Mastitis – Mastilep and its Applications” He is Technical Editor of “Dairy India – 2007” and “Dairy India – 2015” (under publication). For his contribution to the development of rural dairy sector, the Ayurvet Knowledge Symposium has awarded Dr. Rattan Sagar Khanna with “Integrating Agriculture and Livestock for Sustainability” from the hands of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India. Under his able guidance and immense leadership the company is expected to further solidify its growth prospects.
