Biography
Regarded by many as an authority in the LED industry for over 30 years, Mr. Gupta is credited with establishing Kwality Photonics, India’s first and largest LED manufacturer. Under Mr. Gupta’s leadership, Kwality is today a Technology and Quality leader producing 600 types of LEDs with 100% yields and achieving the ISO 9001-2008 certification. A B.Sc from Mumbai University and gold medallist in Electronics Engineering from IISc Bangalore, Mr. Gupta produced the first LED in 1977 at ECE IISc lab and is a cherished scientific brain of the country having many path breaking scientific achievements to his credit. He has also assumed numerous prestigious positions in his illustrious career including President of ELCINA, ELIAP, AVIF, CII-BYST-ESP, and member of BIS ET23/24, DIT working group on Photonics and Materials.
