Biography
Asra Fatima received her Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry (BLSO), L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad (affiliated to Birla Institute of Technology and Science) and an MPhil in Optometry from the Elite School of Optometry, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai (affiliated to Birla Institute of Technology and Science). Asra joined LVPEI as an Assistant Optometrist – Research and jointly works for the Visual Optics Laboratory, Brien Holden Institute of Optometry and Vision Sciences and the Tej Kohli Cornea Institute, L V Prasad Eye Institute since 2014. Asra’s research focuses on understanding the changes in optics of the eye and its impact on binocular vision after various refractive surgery procedures. She is currently working on how interocular magnification and contrast vision changes after refractive surgery. She is also involved in other projects related to refractive surgery, mentors optometry students with their research projects and spends two days of her week for patient care.
