Biography
Swapnali Sabhapandit completed her MBBS from Guwahati Medical College in 2004 and MS (Ophthalmology) from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Guwahati in 2007. This was followed by a long term fellowship in Cornea and Anterior segment services at LVPEI, Hyderabad. She has experience of working at the community level and in the past has been associated with Lions Eye Hospital, Guwahati and North Bengal Eye Centre, Siliguri. She was instrumental in starting corneal transplant and other cornea related work in both the centres. For her community services, she received the G Sitalakshmi Memorial award in 2012 from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai and Lions Club, Chennai. She has participated actively in various national conferences and has been invited as guest speaker for many CMEs. She has also authored chapters in text books for post graduate students. Swapnali joined LVPEI in 2015 and since then has been actively involved in clinics, academics, training and research. Her areas of interest are pediatric cornea, infections of cornea and surgical training programmes.
