Dr. Dattaprasad Talekar

Biography

 Dr. Dattaprasad Talekar was born on August 28 1957. He did Master of Science in Chemistry from Bombay IIT and completed his doctorate in National Chemical Laboratory of Pune. In 2001 Dr. Talekar became the Head of LIPL’s Manufacturing of Rubber Chemicals plant in Thane. He was responsible for the Union long term settlement and vital project to significantly reduce union interference in plant functioning. In 2005, he was appointed as Director on the Board of management for LANXESS India Private limited.   Presently he holds the position of Site Head of Jhagadia site and Executive Director. He started his career with ONGC Baroda in Mud Engineering section as a chemist. He joined Bayer in 1985 as management trainee and was trained on shop floor to handle production in shifts. In 1986 he was sent for technical training to Germany and was trained in Rubber Chemicals plants at Dormagen, Brunsbuttel and Antwerpen. In 1988 he took over the responsibility of Sulphenamide plant in Bayer (India) Thane. In 1991 he took over the responsibility as Production Manger of Accelerator section. In 1995 modernization of Thiazole plant was successfully completed. He was actively involved in Union discussion for long term settlement.  In 1998 he took over as the General Manager of Rubber Chemicals plant and was actively involved in product globalization strategy and production streamlining.   Talekar loves photography, listening to music and bird watching. He is married and has two daughters.
