Ak Shukla

Biography

Dr Shukla has passion for teaching and medical research. He has helped his department acquire state of the art equipment used for diagnosing and treating entire spectrum of visual disorders. His area of interest is community Ophthalmology.  For more than a decade, he has been organizing camps for old people with cataract in remote and rural areas. His team visits villages, screens individuals with vision related problems, and fetches and drops them back to their homes after they are operated in Kasturba hospital, Sevagram. He has been closely associated with National Program for Control of Blindness, and his community- based screening and intervention programs have significantly reduced the cataract-associated visual impairment in and around Wardha district. Dr Shukla is about to offer highly subsidized LASIK surgery for patients with high myopia soon.   Dr Shukla has passion for teaching and medical research.
