Biography
Dr. Dipak Thamke obtained MBBS (1994) and MD (Microbiology) (2000) from the Government Medical College, Nagpur. He briefly worked at Government Medical College, Nagpur and joined the department of Microbiology at MGIMS in 2001. His research interest is in Mycology, especially in diagnosing rare fungal infections. He has isolated and identified rare fungi (Colletotrichum dematium and Acrophialophora fusispora) from patients with mycotic keratitis and has published his observations in biomedical journals. Also interested in pathogenesis of Candida infections, he is currently researching issues related to Candida infections in hospitalized patients.
