Biography
Dr Kavita Renge-Satav, did her MBBS from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur and MS (Ophthalmology) from Government Medical College, Nagpur. Instead of choosing to work in big cities or settling down abroad she turned her eyes away from the beaten path of making money to herself but decided to serve the Korku tribals of the Melghat region of Maharashtra. Along with her husband, Dr Ashish Satav, she has showed the way for creating a model of community-based healthcare by focusing on the needs of the people than on one’s greed.
