Biography

Dr. Ranjan Choudhary completed MBBS from Government Medical College Nagpur in 2003 and received her MD from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in 2010. She served her residencies in the Department of Community Medicine at Seth GS Medical College, KEM hospital, from 2007-2010. She has served as Medical Officer at Primary Health Centre, Gumathala Nagpur from 2004-2005.  Her chief areas of interest are mental health, integrated healing model and public health management. Dr. Ranjan Choudhary had an abiding interest in the mind-body connection long before she decided to become a physician, and that interest profoundly shaped her attitude towards traditional medicine and healing. Her study of yoga, meditation and Vippassana in college led her to think critically about the curriculum she encountered in medical school - in particular, the lack of specificity in the teachings on the body's healing process. As she began her medical career, she began to see a large number of people with medically unexplained symptoms in her practice and became interested in mind body medicine. She researched on issues related to better understanding of mental health and emotional intelligence and their association with physical health.
