Udbhav Relan

Biography

 "Udbhav Relan is working as Product Manager at Mapmygenome India Limited - India's leading personal genomics and molecular diagnostics company.  After having done his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Delhi, Udbhav went on to pursue his MSc in Biotechnology and Enterprise from the University of Manchester, UK. Prior to working at Mapmygenome, Udbhav has worked on several research projects - he helped build a tool to conduct Virtual Biopsies, at the University of Calgary, Canada.  He worked on a project to develop stem cell based therapy for stress urinary incontinence, alongside Dr. Anthony Atala at the Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, USA; Developed and optimised a protocol for the successful differentiation of human Embryonic Stem Cells (hESCs) into functional chondrocytes to tackle cartilage repair therapies at the University of Manchester.  Worked for 2 years at ICGEB in the field of malaria vaccine development under Padma Shri Prof. Virander Chauhan; and helped develop the Indian market for sequencing giants BGI (Beijing Genomics Institute). His interest in genetics, and his belief that genomics IS the future of healthcare, led him to Mapmygenome,
