Biography
Dr. Chakrabarti earned his Ph.D. from Calcutta University in 1991 where he investigated the fingerprinting of crop cultivars by seed surface scanning, seed storage protein banding pattern, RFLP, RAPD and analyzed the changes of protein and DNA profile with accelerated ageing & N-fertilization. post doctoral research in the Dept of Biotechnology, Jadavpur University and Bidhanchandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya. During his postdoctoral research at Jadavpur University and at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, he worked mainly in the areas of enzymatic and molecular aspects of plant stress, detection of C-mos protooncogene in zebra fish, molecular mechanism of bacterial multidrug resistance and the biodiversity of plant growth promoting microorganisms (PGPR) with a view to isolation, purification, characterization and maintenance of effective strains for formulation and production of quality biofertilizers and biopesticides.
