Biography
Dhiman Karmakar is presently an Assistant Prof. in the Dept. of Information Technology, MAKA University of Technology. Formerly, he served Surendranath College, Kolkata, for three years as an Assistant Prof. in the Dept. of Computer Science . Erst he was associated in a research project on “color face recognition” in Machine Intelligence unit of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He did his graduation in Computer Sc. (Hons.) from University of Calcutta. He received Master of Computer Application and M.Tech. (in Computer Sc. and Engg.) degrees, both from University of Calcutta. He has qualified UGC NET in Computer Sc. & Applications and consequently ranked in WBCSC. He was also selected for CSIR Senior Research Fellowship in Computer Engineering Sciences. He is pursuing his Ph.D(Tech) from the Computer Sc. & Engg. department of University of Calcutta under the supervision of Prof. C.A. Murthy (ISI). During the teaching days he developed expertise in topics like data structure, algorithm and shell scripting. His research interests include Computer Vision, Multimodal Biometrics, and Speech/ Speaker Recognition.
