Biography
Dr. Smaranika Sahu has been completed her MSc. in the year 2008 from North Orissa University in Zoology and M.Phil in Zoology in the year 2010 from North Orissa University. After completion of M.Sc. and M.Phil. Degree in Zoology from North Orissa University in the year 2010, she joined as project fellow in 2011 in a research project entitled “Technology Development for rearing of tasar silkworm on semisynthetic diet: role of antioxidants and micronutrients for improved silk production” funded by DST, Govt. of Odisha implemented in the P.G. Department of Biotechnology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Her Project work was mainly focused on indoor rearing of tropical tasar silkworm, Antheraea mylitta, development of semisynthetic diet fortified with micronutrients and antioxidants and their impact on antioxidant defense system of this species. After the completion of her project tenure, she joined as Research Assistant in the P.G. Department of Biotechnology under DST-PURSE programme sponsored by DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi. She has completed her Ph.D. degree in Zoology on a topic entitled “Cellular redox status during development of A. mylitta under different physiological conditions” from Utkal University in the year 2016.
