Biography
Dr. Uday Khopkar, an expert at diagnosis of skin diseases. He has taken special training in skin pathology in USA in 1992 and again 1994 -1995 under the legendary dermatopathologist, Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman. After coming back to India in 1995 he established a countrywide dermatopathology referral system that receives now more than 5000 biopsy referrals every year. Dr. Khopkar introduced addition of photomicrographs as a routine to all biopsy reports, probably a first amongst pathologists from India. This made the reports easy to read, educative and transparent. Besides, they served as a record of the findings, being printed with fade resistant ink.
