Biography
Sashi completed his M.A. in Economics from Bombay (now Mumbai) University in 1985 and Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University, Ithaca, in 1990. After more than ten years in business, Sashi returned to academia in 2000 and is currently Professor of Economics at the Narsee Monjee Institute for Management Studies (NMIMS), Bengaluru. His teaching interests are mainly micro and macroeconomics. His research interests are eclectic: he has published in subjects ranging from microeconomic theory to environment economics, from economic and monetary history to contemporary macroeconomic country studies. Sashi is also an avid documentary filmmaker. His films have been screened at international festivals around the world and some have also be screened on channels including National Geographic and Doordarshan. He is a reviewer for various journals.
