Biography
Dr. V.V. Gopal is currently a Professor (Marketing) and also the Associate Dean (UG) at NMIMS, Bangalore. He did his PGDBM from IMT Ghaziabad and Ph.D from Osmania University, Hyderabad. His teaching career spans fourteen years. He was earlier associated with various industries for more than fifteen years, chief among them being ITC and Karvy Consultants. Developing case studies based on Indian businesses is his passion. His case on JSW Shoppe was ranked among the top ten cases in the ISB-Ivey case competition. The case is published by Richard Ivey School of Business and has also been translated into the Chinese language. Dr. Gopal has edited twelve books in the area of marketing and general management and presented papers at several International conferences. Apart from teaching management students, he has been involved in conducting research projects, publishing research papers, case study development, consultancy and training. He has done consulting assignments for Globe Pharma (USA) and Reliance Retail among others. Dr. Gopal’s current research interests include studies on consumer shopping attitudes and buying behaviour.
