Biography
Dr. M. Krishnan started his career as Scientist (Ag. Economics) at Division of Agricultural Economics, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi in 1982. He also worked at Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai as Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist and Head of Division I/c, Social Sciences Division. He worked as Head, Fisheries Economics, Extension and Statistics Division at Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai during 2011-2016 and is currently, Head, Education Systems Management Division, NAARM, Hyderabad from October 2016. He has been trained in Coastal Aquaculture at the South East Asian Fisheries Development Centre (SEAFDEC), Iloilo, The Philippines. He has been Head of training in the institutions he has worked in, for more than 20 years. Dr. Krishnan has completed number of international consultancy projects for Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA), Bangkok, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Rome and SAARC Agriculture Centre, Dhaka. He has completed consultancy projects for insurance and finance sectors and educational institutions, besides being on Board of few of these institutions. He has also handled number of externally funded inter-institutional projects as well as institute projects. Dr. Krishnan has specialized in Fisheries Development and Policy and has published more than 150 papers in national and international impact factor journals and has guided number of Post Graduate and Doctoral students. He is currently Vice President, Indian Society of Agricultural Marketing, Hyderabad and Agricultural Economics Research Association, New Delhi. He has also chaired several sessions of important academic conferences and has delivered several invited lectures. He has more than 34 years of research, teaching, guidance, training and administrative experience.
