Dr. Ananthakumar S is working as Senior Principal Scientist in the Materials Science and Technology Division of National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, constituent Laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR).

Functional Ceramics (self lubricating & low friction), Ceramic/Metal Hybrid Composites, Nano Composites (MAX phase), Sol Gel Nano ceramics, Microwave Processing of Ultra High Temperature Ceramics, Porous Ceramics, Electro Ceramics (Medium and high voltage Varistors), Innovative fabrication Techniques for Ceramic Shapes (gel extrusion, gel-tape casting, and nano casting)
