Biography
A doctorate in the field of earth sciences, he joined the Institute in 2006. He pursued his career at Central Building Research Institute, IITR, JNU New Delhi, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Forest Research Institute and Vellore Institute of Technology. He is Leader of IPL-172 project under International Programme on Landslide and is coordinating Indo-Japanese Action Plan on Landslides and Disaster Management as part of inter-governmental cooperation. His key areas of interest are landslides, avalanches, earthquakes, floods, tsunami, GLOFs, LLOFs, Dam Bursts, mining disasters, community based disaster risk management, damage and loss assessment, disaster safe hill area development and environmental management.
